  1. It's cartoons like this that make me ponder the lyrics of Genesis' "The Knife". Hmmmmmmm.....

  2. I usually just ignore your iniquitous cartoons, but this is beyond the pale. Let me just be the first to say that I am appalled. How dare you Mr. Rall. How dare you. Advocating violence is a new low, even for you. And to suggest that someone is anti-intellectual just because they are wearing an American flag and waving one at the same time is infantile. You are unpropitious.
You are a worthless. Our troops. You and your ilk. I hope you ...

  3. Little Georgie W. Bush used to step on thousands of ants gathered around the melting popsicle he planted on the ground. Faux college student, Georgie W. Bush branded fellow frat brothers and minimized the act by comparing it to a cigarette burn (tell that to anyone who has been intentionally burned...read tortured...with lit cigarettes). Presidential Candidate, Georgie W. Bush made a little, squeaky voice to mimic a woman on death row, and almost half of American voters gave Bush their vote, while the Supreme Court did give Bush their votes.
Resident George W. Bush continues to torture and kill on an unprecedented scale, all the while denying he is an unrepentant torturer, sadist, mass murderer, war criminal, traitor, emperor without clothes, and all-around jackoff. Laura Bush quietly stands by her closeted, dry-drunk bastard son-of-a-bitch serial-killer, turkey-pardoning, bottom-of-the-shoe scum, human excrement excuse for a human being husband. Of course, this is Bush-bashing. Everything said here has no foundation in fact. Bush is really the savior of America and the world. We just look bad, because we have more and bigger guns than anyone else, and Bush chooses to use them. Invite Georgie W. Bush to your house for Thanksgiving dinner. Serve the prick a bowl of pretzels.

  4. Yes this approach may work on some of the right sided people I work with. After all that has happened they are among the 25% that still think bush is doing a good job. Maybe a good ol' knock on the noggin will work. Facts don't seem to sway their view.

  5. I think the point is that liberals SHOULDN'T adopt this mentality. The offended person is mixing message and messenger.

  6. I think the "point" is to point out how utterly frustrating it is to try to reason with dolts like the one depicted with the flag and whatnot.

  7. Mr. Rall, I think you are having a nervous breakdown.

  8. This is just too funny :) PR crowd of course is "appalled" but who cares. Those people are just as useful as bikecycle for fish.

  9. Angelo - I had to look that one up - unpropitious ... hmm.

I agree the cartoon is too much.

But it does make you think.

Fixing the current situation is not going to be pretty. Or nice. Or happen during a commercial break.

  11. James, Ted is a cubist. This comic could be about Iraq. Still, I agree with you.

Even if you manage to get an anti-intellectual's attention, they will feign outrage at what you tell them so they will never have to actually attempt to evaluate it (that's hannity's method).

I miss those email Ted used to post from really inarticulate people. They were always eerily similar in the use of certain phrases you don't normally hear elsewhere (e.g "you and your ilk"). You also get the feeling that they looked up the word 'bad' at Thesaurus.com and are inserting synonyms throughout.
Some staples I left out, were :
    1)estimations of Ted's brain mass
    2)misspelled homoerotic torture threats
    3)threats of violence
4)starting off with a nice comment in an attempt to make the rest of the message hurt more.
5)Saying "you got beat up alot in school alot, did't you?"

  12. You guys don't get it! This is about the US foreign policy. If they don't want western style capitalist democracy, you bomb them into accepting it.

  13. Headline: "Former Press Aide Rips Bush, Cheney in CIA Leak
People with brains and common sense knew the rats would eventually begin to abandon the sinking ship of George W. "On-the-job-training-Resident" Bush. Where's Karl Rove these days? Counting his carpetbagging millions as he cackles from the depths of Dick 'DICK' Cheney's taxpayer-supported mountain bunker (Seig Heil!).
