A continuation of the drum I began banging with this week's column. If Democrats want to end the war, all they have to do is refuse to allow debate on any war funding bill. Period. Amazingly, reporters seem to be ignorant about how the U.S. government works.

I do wish Congress had the moral backbone to do this. They might be surprised by how many of the American people would support this move.

I just wish that they'd cut through the bullshit for once. At least with Vietnam there actually was a Soviet Union. This war is completely and totally based on fabrication, and yet people play the game of being very nice and reasonable about it....essentially being nice and reasonable about something that they either know is a lie or that they should know is one.

I think if we really care about ending the occupation, we will have to follow the rules of pulling out:
Declare victory, and RUN AWAY!
...just like Russia did in Afghanistan.
The first step was securing a token, but definite military success. They took a few months, planned a small, focused offensive and kicked ass for a few days. Then they went home and had parades and vodka!!
Sounds primitive, I know, but it will probably work better than ritual human sacrifice. Decapitating the legislature in their sleep went over like a frog an a hot plate. And while assassination by RC plane is clearly escaping those capable, it would appear the Russian scheme is our only hope.
Not allow a debate? If the Republicans did the same thing the Democrats would freak.
ReplyDeleteAgree with the column and the cartoon. Last time Ms. Pelosi was right was when she said We [Congress] need a Nude Erection. She and Mr. Reid also need the standard accessories that come with that.
